I Have a New Orchid!

My track record with orchids is not so good. I got one a few years ago; it was already in bloom. I could never get it to bloom again. Then I got a miniature orchid, and the same thing happened.

The new orchid is on the smaller side, and the flowers are fuchsia and white. Just beautiful. I want to hear all your orchid-growing tips and secrets!

  1. Unfortunately, I haven't been real successful with orchids either, but I just love them. Your new one looks and sounds lovely. Is it a dendrobium or phaleaonopsis? I think they're both supposed to be fairly easy to grow. And they have smaller flowers. I know they like to be fairly moist and some bright light/sun. But of course, this is coming from someone who keeps losing her orchids. :( Enjoy.

  3. Ack! Before pets and kids, I had a GREEN thumb. Now, I kill everything I touch (except the pets and kids ... barely). Good luck!

  4. The orchid I got for my birthday back in February currently looks like a stick in a pot. Not pretty. I'm determined to make it re-bloom but I have no tips or ideas on how to do that.

    Good luck!
