What to Bring for Lunch?

I need your ideas. I am going to get better about bringing my lunch to work daily. If I don’t bring lunch, it costs me anywhere from $5 to $15 daily, depending on where I eat.

I usually bring leftovers, a wrap with avocado, cold cuts, hummus and lettuce, a sandwich or salad.

I am getting tired of eating the same old and need some fresh ideas!

What’s your favorite bagged lunch?

  1. I'm probably not the right person to answer this . . . I bring the same lunch day in, day out. Usually a sandwich and yogurt with some fresh fruit. Occasionally I try to mix it up by bringing some of the things you mentioned. I do like the flavored tuna that comes in a packet instead of a can; it's good w/ crackers. It sure beats eating out, but I'm always in such a hurry to get out the door in the morning that there's no time to be creative!

  2. cedar lane garden vegetable enchiladas. they're frozen. do you have a long commute?? might not work then. microwave 5 minutes. they're good! love them with a little avocado or guac.

  3. Trader Joe's has some really great things to take along to work, do you have one there in NY? I used to like taking cold pasta salads with me. I'd make a whole pot of pasta like penne or tortellini and then I would separate it into 6 to 8 servings and add different things to flavor it. For instance, I would make one portion with pesto, tomatoes and pine nuts, another with cubes of mozzarella, tomatoes, salami (or whatever meat I had) shredded carrots and zucchini.
